Everything that exists has energy. A stone for instance, may not seem like a lively object, but it needs energy to power its molecules. Energy is everywhere, in the water, the breeze, the shadows. It cannot be destroyed. When it loses purpose in one thing it moves on to something else. A corpse, although dead, still teems with energy. Energy that moves into the soil. That grows in the plants. Even the cold depths of space bristle with it. The universe is full of dormant energy waiting to be put to use.
